Designing such unique handbags can be a challenge, What might seem like a great idea doesn't always translate well with our concept. All bags must fit an Ivy or Lily on the front, a mundane fact that results in all sorts of proportion issues! Each bag must be equally as functional as it is beautiful, jaw-dropping arm candy means nothing if it cannot meet your needs. These are all challenges Sarah faces, as she dedicates herself to reinventing the handbag wheel.    

 

 

The next step takes us on a journey to Turkey, where we collaborate closely with a small family-owned factory led by handbag wizard, Seckin. Here we communicate our design aspirations, functional requirements, and the essence of the Sarah Haran brand. Seckin's team of skilled artisans then bring these ideas to life, transforming them into tangible prototypes.

 

Creating a Sarah Haran handbag is an endeavour that cannot be rushed. Each bag is painstakingly refined to ensure it embodies the brand's ethos of marrying beauty and functionality seamlessly. This iterative approach guarantees that every handbag is distinct, unparalleled, and embodies the essence of luxury.

 

 

Back at our Joy HQ, our team of talented individuals come together to choose colours that harmonize perfectly with the brand's existing range. Contrary to popular belief, the shades we have to choose from are not endless, but are actually from a small and refined palette. While we know these leathers are the highest grade available, it can be challenging to continually rearrange our palette to provide customers with new and exciting products.

 

 

Once we confirm our samples and shades, it's over to Seckin to commence the production phase. In the heart of Istanbul, skilled artisans meticulously handcraft each bag, pouring their expertise and love into every stitch. The result is a product that exudes elegance and quality in every detail.

 

 

Of course, each product we create must uphold our commitment to excellence. At the quality control phase, each stitch, popper and zip undergoes rigorous scrutiny, ensuring that it meets the brand's high standards. Impeccable finishes, and uncompromising quality are non-negotiable traits that each handbag must possess.

 

 

When the bags arrive at HQ, there's an air of excitement when we see our bags for the first time. Months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration culminate to reveal a handbag unlike anything else in the world. While we put every effort into fool-proofing our design process, you never truly know the end result until it arrives!
